Colleges in Westchester offer just about any major. Some students study fashion. Other students study engineering. There is a major for everyone. You just have to know your passion.

It is important to know that you will only receive an Associate's Degree at most of these schools. You may run into problems when trying to transfer after two years. You should know ahead of time what schools you are considering transferring to after you complete your Associate's Degree.

Some schools around the area are very small, like Concordia College. Others are very large, like Westchester Community College. Most students tend to commute when they study local. But, you do have the option of staying on campus at some of the schools. Mercy College has dorms, where students live.

Pell Grants are for any student who demonstrates financial need. The Tuition Assistance Program, or TAP, is especially for New York, in-state students. These grants are a supplement to Pell Grants. TAP is another incentive for staying local. You will receive more financial aid.
